Success!
I am exhausted after such and emotional and inspiring evening. Although we don't have a final total of the amount raised yet, I can definitely say the event at Chick-fil-A was a great success! We not only raised funds to help Skylar, but we raised awareness for ED! We were overwhelmed with well-wishes, prayers, and hugs from so many folks who came out just to support Skylar and her family.
Thank you to all those who came in and spun the wheel and dropped in extra cash just because you cared. Thank you to my Hunton Baptist Church families that took the extra time out of your Valentine's Day to show your love. Thank you to the Vaughan, Morris, Broom, Hayman, and Matthews families for your support, passion, and guidance. Thank you to our co-workers who came in abundance! Thank you to our friends, especially the old ones who we may have not seen in awhile, your support means so much. Thank you to our Williamsburg Christian Retreat Center friends who came an hour away to show your support, what a blessing! Thank you to our new friend Halstonn and the Wilson family for coming out to share your story about living with ED. You are such an inspiration and we look forward to getting to know you better! Thank you to Chick-fil-A and Cyndi Harris for hosting, organizing, and promoting this event. Even special thanks to the cows, you made the evening fun although you did creep up and scare me a few times! I knew there was a reason I loved Chick-fil-A so much! :) I know there are folks I missed and ones I didn't get the chance to thank in person, you know who you are. Thank you.
Most of all, thank you to Skylar. At three years old, your little life inspires me more than you could ever know. I look forward to watching you grow into a beautiful and special young lady.
All my love,
Aunt Laura
